Mars & Jupiter Merge ~
Enormous Potential with a Twist!

If someone were to ask me what my favorite planetary pairing is out of all the countless combinations that exist, a Mars/Jupiter conjunction would be one of the top on my list.

Why is this?

Because Mars is the planet of instinct and desire. Jupiter is the planet of growth and prosperity. When you merge these two powerhouses, in the best of circumstances, the driving force of Mars in combination with the expansive energy of Jupiter can energize fortunate action. Whatever you put your Mars energy into, can become tremendously fortuitous.

As you direct your energy toward what you desire, Jupiter expands your efforts and sends an optimistic wind blowing into the sails of your leading desires. This is a Mars/Jupiter conjunction at its best, and occurs on Wednesday, Aug, 14. However, it has already been in effect in recent days and will reverberate for several days following, as it opens the gates to a road you are being called to travel.

Saturn, the planet of tests and timing, is squaring Mars and Jupiter at the same time, suggesting either there is a block you must clear, a fear you must face, or patience may be required before the opportunity or dream can be realized. Saturn makes us work for it, so we can grow. It can represent a door between here and there, or a potential twist of fate.

Both Mars and Jupiter are transiting through Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and information. Mercury is currently retrograde in Virgo as I am writing this newsletter, but will back into Leo on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the same day as the exact Mars/Jupiter conjunction, giving it extra fire and steam. This can increase your passion and your purpose to help you give something all you’ve got, to leave it all on the stage or the battlefield.

With Mars and Jupiter in Gemini, this can symbolize the expression ~ ‘the writing is on the wall’. It can also present you with options with two roads to choose from. With Mars and Jupiter’s square to Saturn, this can reflect having certain responsibilities that may also be taking precedence before you can feel yourself moving at the speed you would prefer.

In many cases, I am witnessing this expression for people ~ Two things can be true at the same time. i.e. life may be going exceptionally well in one direction yet  extremely challenging in another.

How this pairing presents itself will play out differently for all of us depending on the themes that each individual Soul is calling in at this time. For example, not everyone will experience the ultimate high or the grand slam moment. Let me explain this by using a baseball analogy here.

It’s the top of the 9th (last inning in baseball) and the home team is pitching. They are up 12-1 against their opponent and a Major League Baseball team sends in 22 year old rookie pitcher Troy Taylor who they’ve just recruited from the minor leagues (where players here are literally waiting, praying and hoping for the call)and they give this rookie a chance to close out the game. With family in the stands on a Sunday night in the midst of a crowd of 40,000 fans and national television coverage, Taylor gets his shot and walks to the mound. Visibly pumped and embracing this Mars/Jupiter moment, the pressure of Saturn was on, so much so, the head coach said that he could see Taylor’s heart beating through his jersey. Taylor walked the first batter but ultimately ended up striking out two other batters in his first major league debut to help the Mariners clinch this win. While this was an enormous opportunity for this Soul, and a dream come true, the visiting team had to fly home suffering a big loss. Not everybody wins. Such is life.

The next ten days look to be some of the most active and consequential aspects of the year. While I positively love the Sun’s conjunction to Mercury retrograde in Leo on Sunday, Aug.18, to inspire more love and purpose on your path, the two will be squaring Uranus on the same day, while directly aspecting a Full Moon in Aquarius on Monday, Aug. 19. This has the potential to ignite unexpected events that may have you needing to suddenly change gears or directions. Venus in Virgo will oppose Saturn on Monday, Aug. 19, as well and then follow with a square to Mars and Jupiter in the days that follow to either challenge your agenda, generate circumstances that require patience, or bring light to the direction you must travel.

Soul themes of significance are coming to a critical juncture. Whatever is surfacing now may take some time to resolve as Saturn is retrograde in Pisces until mid-November. Within it all there could be some sacrifice involved or a need to give up something in one direction so something exceptional can occur in another direction.

Know This:

You cannot miss what is meant for you.

You cannot lose what is yours.

Any road you take in an effort to avoid your destiny will inevitably turn into a preparation period – a growth concourse – through which you are forced to face what led you astray in the first place. In the same way that you cannot hide from what is yours to have, you can also not run from what is yours to heal, to grow from, to grow into.

The things that are meant for us make us the people we are meant to be.

(Brianna Wiest)

For now, It’s about staying flexible, and open to clear signs that are directing your path forward, as well those that point toward necessary timing. Even if that means you have to wait to see how something plays out. Dig in and strive to rise to this evolutionary occasion.
